Hellloooooo again (: Today I did a little experiment for y'all. As many of you know, I live in Downtown LA, which can be super expensive to live in. Yet, I don't wanna sit at home all the time doing nothing. So, I'm making a full on guide to cheap dates (friends/boyfriends) to do in Los Angeles! Starting from Downtown LA. 1. Expo Park Rose Garden/ California Science Center Today, I decided to research all of the free things in LA. I just graduated college. Ya girl doesn't have a full time yet. You put it together. BUT with little to no money to spend, my experience today was amazing. You don't have to spend tons of money to go on cute hang outs/ dates. I first took the Metro train from 7th Street Metro Station down to Expo Park/USC station. The train fee is $1.75 each way so make note to bring your tap card/ money to put on it. After I got off, my boyfriend and I went to Exposition Park. It's beautiful out there. Especially in the Rose Garden, established 1927 (It said it on the sign, don't judge me for remembering lol). This is where your frugality begins. Is that a word? We're gonna say it's a word today. Anywayssss, beforehand, I made sandwiches using what I had in my fridge, put water in our water bottles because it's healthy, and packed away a bunch of snacks including carrots, yogurt drinks, oreos, and pudding. It's a little random, but if you're like me, a full pantry isn't always the case cause 1. I eat it all or 2. I haven't gotten groceries in a long time. Set all this food up with a cozy blanket to sit on, and you have yourself a nice, secluded picnic. If you've never been to the Rose Garden, it's insane. It's so beautiful. There's a huge fountain in the middle too which I love. It's perfect for photo shoots, picnics, and relaxing. After our picnic, we packed up onto our next adventure. We walked through the park to the other side, to a huge building. It was the California Science Center. It's so cool, if you're a nerd like me and you like interactive things, that is the place to be. NOT TO MENTION, the newest exhibit there is an exhibit all about DOGS. We didn't get to see it since we came in late and we were exploring everything else. Hours are from 10am to 5pm daily. Oh, and best part... Admission is FREE. No, I'm not lying. It's appreciated if you donate, but they do not sell tickets. You'll love it if you like anything Space, Ecosystems, Aquariums, Creative Interactive exhibits and more. Overall, I had a great time! I highly recommend to come with friends / or a date. It's super cheap, intimate, and fun. Not to mention you're right next to USC, which comes with even more things to do. 2. The BroadEveryone must visit the Broad Museum at least once. Admission to the normal Gallery is free as well if you don't mind waiting in the stand-by line. Usually waits are not even longer than 40 minutes. It's worth it because the art is amazing! And I'm pretty sure that there is a special exhibit usually that isn't too bad of cost! 3. Getty CenterThis one is cheap but at the same time... not. Admission is free, and SO worth it but it's a little far out with train AND bus. If you can handle being on those two for almost 2 hours, YES. Visit the Getty Center, It's so gorgeous. I've been here before. It has art, architecture and a garden overlooking LA. 4. LACMAWithout counting the Uber there and back, admission is free on the second Tuesday of every month or after 3 pm on weekdays for LA County locals. LACMA is an amazing museum to visit with musical shows most nights for free and of course the beautiful Urban Light fixtures. 5. Santa Monica BeachGoing to Santa Monica doesn't mean you have to spend money.... although you'll really really want to. Go even if you have no money to spend, all you need is your tap card, a beach blanket, a good book, and packed snacks. People associate going to the Pier with spending money but, it doesn't have to be like that. Get a group of friends, snuggle up and stay until its too cold at night to bear. It's honestly fun and refreshing. That's all for this post, I hope I gave you some ideas to have a fun day with friends or even just on your own. As always, love you all so much. XOXO,
